Housing allowance

Housing allowance is the most that benefits pay towards a tenant's rent each month.

  • In the Central Greater Manchester area: £411.58 for a room in a house share, £775.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £875.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £950.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £1,350.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
  • In the Oldham and Rochdale area: £344.83 for a room in a house share, £475.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £577.50 for a 2-bedroom home, £695.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £950.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
  • In the Southern Greater Manchester area: £411.58 for a room in a house share, £625.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £750.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £900.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £1,400.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
  • In the Tameside and Glossop area: £321.08 for a room in a house share, £525.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £600.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £750.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £1,150.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
