Housing allowance is the most that benefits pay towards a tenant's rent each month.

  • In the Durham area: £393.25 for a room in a house share, £393.25 for a 1-bedroom home, £400.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £475.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £659.87 for a 4-bedroom home.
  • In the North Cumbria area: £319.83 for a room in a house share, £395.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £475.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £590.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £740.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
  • In the Northumberland area: £356.33 for a room in a house share, £375.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £425.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £530.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £760.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
  • In the Tyneside area: £381.33 for a room in a house share, £490.00 for a 1-bedroom home, £550.00 for a 2-bedroom home, £650.00 for a 3-bedroom home, £925.00 for a 4-bedroom home.
